Abstract

ABSTRACT: Hair loss, also known as alopecia, is a widespread problem that affects people all over the world. Natural remedies have grown in favour as alternatives to hair loss treatments, and fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) has emerged as a potential herbal medicine in recent years. This abstract summarises the scientific research on the use of fenugreek for hair loss and its possible effectiveness. Fenugreek includes a number of bioactive elements, such as proteins, vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals, which may contribute to its hair-strengthening qualities. Fenugreek seeds have traditionally been used for a variety of therapeutic purposes, including encouraging hair growth and preventing hair loss. Fenugreek has been studied for its possible mechanisms of action, which include increasing blood circulation to the scalp, nourishing hair follicles, lowering inflammation, and regulating hormone levels. Several in vitro and animal studies have shown that fenugreek may be beneficial to hair health. According to these research, fenugreek extract can promote hair growth, increase the number of hair follicles, and lengthen the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle. Furthermore, fenugreek possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory qualities, which may help preserve hair follicles and maintain a healthy scalp environment. While there is an increasing amount of scientific data supporting the use of fenugreek for hair loss, additional well-designed clinical trials with human participants are required to evaluate its efficacy and discover appropriate dose and administration techniques. To guarantee the safe use of fenugreek for hair fall control, any adverse effects, contraindications, and combinations with other drugs should be examined. Finally, fenugreek appears to be a promising natural therapy for hair loss, with probable mechanisms of action relating to enhancing scalp health and encouraging hair growth. However, further study is needed to determine its efficacy, safety, and long-term advantages. Individuals looking to integrate fenugreek into their hair care regimen should obtain personalised advice and suggestions from healthcare specialists or trichologists.
